LSU men’s basketball team won its fourth game in a row on Thursday night, but was it ugly. Both teams showed a true hatred for scoring points, LSU only shot 31percent from the field and held the Anteaters to 33 percent. The big difference in the game was LSU’s ability to get to the free throw line, and convert on their attempts. LSU was 18 of 24, while UCI was 9 of 10 from the charity line.
The game went back and fourth between both clubs for the first half. LSU was able to extend the lead to double digits late in the half and held the lead at the break, 28-16. The main difference in the first half was LSU’s defense, which limited UCI to only one shot per possession. LSU out-rebounded UCI 46 to 39 in the game. It looked like this would be an easy win for LSU.
