Baseball: 30-7 (11-4)
LSU moved up to fourth in this weeks Baseball America’s top-25 following its series sweep over Alabama. The Tigers improved their current winning streak top six in a row and 14 wins in their last 15 games. The streak has vaulted LSU into a tie with Kentucky for first in the SEC and a three game lead in the SEC west.
This week LSU host Lamar on Wednesday night at 6:30 and then head off to Lexington for a huge series against Kentucky. The two top teams square off for the SEC lead starting Friday at 5:30pm, Saturday at 1:00pm and Sunday at 12:00. The Friday and Saturday games will air on the Fox sports network.
Softball: 29-13 (11-6)
The Lady Tigers remained ranked in the top-25 (22) as their were swept in their only series of the week. LSU lost three in a row against Tennessee on the road by a combined score of 16-4.
LSU tries to bounce back with five games this week. Starting on Tuesday LSU played McNeese St. starting at 6:00pm. The following evening LSU host Florida St. also starting at 6:00. This weekend LSU will try to bounce back in SEC play with a series against Ole Miss. Game times are 6:00pm on Friday and Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm. Saturday’s game will air on CST.
Men’s Tennis: 14-9 (5-6)
The tennis team completed its regular season with a victory against Arkansas (4-0). The victory marked its fourth in a row and now sets its sights on the SEC tournament. The tournament beings at the end of the week and Mississippi State is hosting. The 21st ranked Tigers’ first match is against Vanderbilt Thursday at 2:00pm.
Women’s Tennis: 11-11 (4-7)
Unlike the men, the woman’s team finished its regular season on a low note with a loss against Arkansas (5-2). Their conference tournament beings at the end of the week as well, except theirs is at Ole Miss. LSU is open completion on Thursday in a rematch against Arkansas. The match is set to being at 12:00pm.
Gymnastics:
The LSU gymnastics team prepared to travel to Duluth, Georgia to compete in the NCAA gymnastics championships. The event begins with the preliminary round on Friday at 11:00am. Six teams will advance on to compete in the Super-Six starting on Saturday at 3:00pm and the Finals match is set for Sunday starting at 12:00pm
