Who is/was better has been debated in all arenas of life, but in sports a business has been created out of it. Whither it was Magic or Michael, Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage the debates have waged on over decades.
In Baton Rouge, the debate over who was better between Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee might never ne answered, but it will continue. Neither player had their named called during the draft, but on Sunday Jarrett Lee signed as a free agent with the San Diego Charges. Jefferson, who hasn’t officially signed with anyone, has been invited to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie camp starting this Friday. It is being reported that Tampa will make and offer, but nothing official has came out.
Now a rivalry we have debated for four years might come to a close soon. Which player will last the longest in the NFL? I would be shock if either made it to or through training camp. The fact is the neither on was very good in college, so one would assume that would translate into the pro-game right? Can we as a fan base simple say that who ever last the longest with their respected team could finally earn the respect from the side that opposed them at LSU and get the same level of cheer normally reserved for Tigers in the NFL? I mean lets face it, we cheered for Josh Booty…
Other than Jefferson and Lee, five other Tigers signed with NFL teams and hope to make a roster. Ryan Baker signed with Tampa Bay, Will Blackwell signed with Carolina, Deangelo Peterson and T-Bob Hebert signed with St. Louis, and James Stampley signed with Seattle.
