In the wake of the Tyrann Mathieu dismissal the LSU Tigers must carry on and continue working hard to prepare themselves for the 2012 football season. As Miles stated, “we must go on, the team must fill the void”. This LSU team has tremendous depth on the team and especially on this defense. But I would be lying if I said we did not need him on this team. LSU does not have much experience behind Tharold Simon who will be the most senior corner back on the team as a junior. After Simon the Tigers have four freshmen Dwayne Thomas, Derrick Raymond, Jalen Mills, and Jalen Collins. Miles as well as the senior players on the team addressed the younger players and expressed the sense of urgency for one of the young guys to step up and take on the task of leader and playmaker of the secondary. We know the Tigers defensive line will be able to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks which will make life a little bit easier for these young players who will be forced to suffer threw their growing pains in live action instead of in practice but LSU has athletes and these guys all know how to play football and they all know what is at stake this season.
