Chad Jones one of LSU’s most decorated athletes was selected by the New York Giants in the 3rd round of the 2010 NFL Draft. On June 25 just a month after the draft the star cornerback found himself in a serious car accident after losing control of his Range Rover on streetcar tracks in New Orleans, he hit a pole. The wreck left serious injuries to his left ankle and leg, which included a broken tibia and fibula.
Chad Jones was a multi-sport star, pitching and winning a college world Series for the LSU Tigers in 2009 and winning a National Championship with the football team in 2007. Jones was drafted twice in the MLB Draft, once by the Astros and then by the Brewers. Jones chose the Giants and the NFL over baseball.
The “dreadlocks of doom” coined by his Tiger teammates was told he may never walk again or play football at all. Since the accident Jones has been on a very speedy recovery back on his feet and running with the hopes to one day running onto an NFL football field for the first time.
The video link before shows Jones working very hard with his trainers to recover from this horrific accident. It does have a few hard to watch images for those of you with weak stomachs.
