LSU will be without strong safety Craig Loston for the Tiger’s game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs after the senior did not make the trip with his team to Starkville. Taking the place of Loston in the secondary is Corey Thompson and sophomore Micah Eugene is expected to see extensive action in the secondary tonight as well.
The absence of Loston won’t be as detrimental against a run-first Mississippi State team as opposed to a team like Georgia or Texas A&M who likes to air it out, but his experience and leadership will leave a big void on that side of the ball.
The extent of his injury is unknown at this time, but The Advocate is reporting it is a groin ailment. and we will have an update as soon as a time frame is available for his return to action. He had to leave last week’s game vs. Georgia with the ailment and the secondary was exposed.
Loston has 19 tackles and an interception this season.
