The opening over/under line for the game between LSU and Florida started at 47 which is extremely low. Vegas is predicting that Florida’s shutdown defense will slow the Tiger’s scoring, while their less than average offense will fail to put up points in bunches. Florida’s games are only averaging 37.2 points this season.

Florida’s defense is obviously really talented. Loucheiz Purifoy, Antonio Morrison, Dante Fowler and Ronald Powell lead one of the most frightening defenses in the country. Florida is ranked fourth in the country in points allowed per game with 12.2.

The Gator defense will be by far the toughest LSU has faced this year. However, it is hard to believe that any game featuring LSU will result in less than 50 total points this season.

In the six games that LSU has played in this season, the average total score is over 70 points. LSU is a completely different team from last year’s squad, that prided themselves on their defense. This season LSU’s dynamic offense has been the key to success.

The LSU offense is averaging 45.5 points per game, ninth best in the nation. The defense is not even in the top 50 allowing nearly 25 points a game.

It is undeniable that Florida has an elite defense, but LSU also yields a high-powered that has been looking more impressive with every game. LSU probably wont cover the over by themselves, but together it should be covered easily. Expect the total point total to be in the high 50′s, easily covering the line.

Will the total score between LSU and Florida be over 47?
