LSU Looks Atrocious in the First Half Against Furman

LSU looked absolutely terrible in the first half against Furman. LSU only leads by four at halftime. Furman is an FCS team that LSU had to pay a lot of money for the opportunity to use as a punching bag. LSU was expecting for their younger athletes to see ample playing time in the game, but with how the game is going the starters may need to stay in much longer than originally planned.

Zach Mettenberger played like he did in the first half of the Ole Miss game. Early in the game, Mettenberger threw an interception deep in Furman territory. Reggie Thomas intercepted the pass an took it 74 yards to the house, to give Furman a 7-0 lead.

Jeremy Hill has been a bright spot for the Tigers he had two first half touchdowns and 83 yards on just six carries.

Odell Beckham Jr. Had an incredible catch in double coverage for a 37 yard touchdown reception, but he also fumbled a punt late in the first half that allowed Furman to cut the lead to four.

Colby Delahoussaye has been perfect this year. He hadn’t missed a single kick, but tonight he missed an extra point and a 31 yard field goal.

This is not the way LSU wants to be performing with their next game against Alabama. Les Miles will talk to the team at halftime and get them going on the right track, but the first half performance was absolutely pathetic.
