Five teams in the AP top 25 poll were idle this week, including No. 11 LSU who was off for the first Saturday all season, but despite taking the week off they moved into the top 10 in this week’s AP top 25.
The Miami Hurricanes fell from the ranks of the unbeaten at the hands of the Florida State Seminoles and dropped from No. 7 to No. after their loss.
- Alabama Crimson Tide
- Oregon Ducks
- Florida State Seminoles
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Stanford Cardinal
- Baylor Bears
- Auburn Tigers
- Clemson Tigers
- Missouri Tigers
- LSU Tigers
This upcoming week features three marquee matchups with Alabama hosting LSU, Stanford hosting Oregon and Baylor hosting No. 12 Oklahoma. The latter two are on Thursday night on ESPN and Fox Sports 1, respectively.
Of course the biggest game of the week will be in Tuscaloosa between the two SEC west rivals with LSU playing the unfamiliar role of spoiler. However, don’t tell them they’re out of the SEC race as they can make things awfully interesting with the road upset on Saturday night.
If that were to happen I can only imagine how different next week’s AP top 25 poll will look this time next week.
