LSU Tigers Podcast: Alabama Crimson Tide Preview

This is the week LSU has been waiting for since they let the game slip away from them last year in Death Valley and the anticipation has only grown stronger with two early and surprising losses by the Tigers this season.

Finally, Les Miles, Zach Mettenberger, Jeremy Hill and company get a chance for redemption vs. Alabama in Tuscaloosa with an opportunity to spoil the title aspirations of the Crimson Tide.

On this week’s podcast I am joined first by Jack Jorgensen, the lead college football editor at Fansided, to preview the SEC showdown and identify the key matchups that LSU will have to take advantage of on Saturday evening for LSU to leave Bryant-Denny Stadium with a season-saving win.

A win Saturday and the Bayou Bengals can find themselves in position for a potential BCS bowl berth in January.

We looked at the offense and defense of Alabama and pontificate on the ability of the much-maligned LSU defense and if this will be the game Tiger fans have been waiting for all season long where the proverbial light finally turns on.Finally, Jack and I give our picks and final score for the game that will kick off at 7 p.m. CT on CBS (HD).

At 29:10 I am joined by Campus Insiders and College Football News SEC Insider, Russ Mitchell who gives his impression on the hype surrounding this game in comparison to recent years, the unfamiliar role LSU finds themselves in, an in-depth look at the deficiencies of the Tiger defense and what LSU needs to do to leave T-Town with a win.
