They say football is a game of inches and that sometimes the ball just doesn’t bounce your way. Well to start the second half, the ball was bouncing the right way for LSU as Zach Mettenberger was inches away form an interception.

Sophomore tight end, Dillon Gordon had only three receptions entering the game at Alabama, but this reception may be one that is the biggest of the season for him as LSU would score the game-tying field goal a few plays later.
The tie was short-lived, however as Alabama imposed their will on the ensuing drive and T.J. Yeldon ran in from four yards out on third and two to cap a 14-play, 79-yard drive. Yeldon is up to 79 yards and his top reserve, Kenyan Drake has 51 of his own on the ground.
It’s time to get Jeremy Hill going on the ground for LSU after he and Terrence Magee ran the ball well early, but have since been quieted by the Crimson Tide defense.
Alabama leads 24-17 with 4:11 to go in the third quarter.
