The game did not go according to plan for Les Miles and LSU at Alabama as the Tigers fell to the No. 1 Crimson Tide 38-17 as Alabama separated themselves in the second half as they scored 21 unanswered points in the final 20 minutes of the game.
Alabama imposed their will on LSU in the second half as they ran for 129 yards and held LSU to minus 16. They won the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball and had 179 total yards to 52 for LSU and their 15 first downs were triple that of the Bayou Bengals.
LSU had their chances in this game and when they watch the film they will look back and see they had missed opportunities that failed to capitalize on that kept Alabama in the game and gave them the confidence to put this team away late.
The two fumbles in the first 10 minutes was a 10-point swing and LSU was unable to make up that point-differential as Alabama proved to be the best team for the evening. LSU continued their string of playing incomplete games. We have seen dominant quarters and halves, but the effort, production and execution has been lacking for 60 minutes all season.
LSU is idle this upcoming week before hosting the Texas A&M Aggies on Nov. 23 in a must-win game for Miles and the Tigers.
