Prior to LSU’s game at Alabama, College Gameday had a phenomenal piece on Tiger’s fullback J.C. Copeland that is guaranteed to warm your heart. It’s a story similar to former Ole Miss and current Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle, Michael Oher and makes you appreciate that there in fact humans masquerading as are angels on Earth.
Copeland has long been one of my favorite players on this LSU roster, because I love seeing 6-1, 270-pound fullbacks bulldozing their way through the line and putting linebackers on their back as he opens holes for Jeremy Hill and others. I know he didn’t have the best performance against Alabama, but this video isn’t a critique on his game, but rather an appreciation for the man he’s become.
The 4:37 it takes to watch the video will give you a new appreciation for Copeland and all that he has had to overcome prior to arriving at LSU.
Copeland has three touchdowns this season on 13 carries and has seven for his career to go along with 92 yards on 36 carries. He is projected as the No. 4 draft prospect at fullback by Todd McShay of Scouts Inc. and No. 5 by ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper.
