After a crazy Championship Week in college football that saw Ohio State lose for the first time in two years to open the door for Auburn to get to the BCS Championship Game, the bowl projections are becoming a bit clear before the destinations are announcements tonight on ESPN from 8-10pm CT.

With the Missouri Tigers losing in the SEC Championship Game to the Auburn Tigers, that moves the LSU Tigers off of the Cotton Bowl where they had been projected for the past few weeks since defeating the Texas A&M Aggies and into the Outback Bowl.

ESPN’s Marck Schlabach and Brad Edwards project LSU to the New Year’s Day bowl played in Tampa, Fl. Schlabach has LSU playing the8-4  Iowa Hawkeyes while Edwards has the 9-3 Wisconsin Badgers as the opponent for the Tigers.

The Badgers are led by James White, Melvin Gordon and the No. 8 rushing offense in nation and a defense that yields 14.8 points per game. The Hawkeyes are led by running back Mark Weisman and the No. 11 scoring defense. Between the two potential opponents, the Hawkeyes would be the preferred opponent on paper.

The South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Michigan Wolverines in the Outback Bowl last year in a game that featured this play from Jadeveon Clowney.
