Arizona Cardinals rookie safety and former LSU All-American, Tyrann Mathieu was injured returning a kickoff in the Cardinals game vs. the St. Louis Rams and was carted off the field after his leg was bent awkwardly and he tried to run off the field.
Arians says Mathieu appears to have torn his ACL. Very tough blow.

Easily the best value pick in the draft after slipping to the third round in this past April’s draft, Mathieu was among the top rookies in the league this year and on the short list for rookie of the year. Watching him crumble to the ground after trying to run off the field leaves a pit in your stomach and just hope for a full recovery, although he will not return today.
I appreciate everyone prayers. We go through things in life to test our faith & strength..

Arizona has been one of the bigger surprises in the NFC this season and with a win today improved to 8-5 with a possible playoff berth awaiting them at season’s end. Losing Mathieu obviously is a huge detriment to their defense and playoff bid where he has been a playmaker at the free safety position.
