LSU Commitment, Trey Quinn has had a sensational high school career for the Barbe Buccaneers. Quinn holds national record for most receiving yards in a high school career. In his four years at Barbe, he had 6,566 receiving yards, 210 more than former record holder and Missouri sophomore, Dorial Green-Beckham. Quinn also finished his career with 357 career receptions, a Louisiana record and third best nationally.
Quinn had an amazing senior season, catching 108 passes for 1967 yards and 23 touchdowns, in just 13 games. With his remarkable year, he has been named a finalist for the U.S. Army Player of the Year Award, along with five other elite high school athletes. He is in the running with Georgia commitment Nick Chubb, Florida commitment Will Grier, North Carolina commitment Elijah Hood, Marshon Lattimore, and Joe Mixon.
Quinn was extremely humble about being a finalist. Quote from Nola.com
It’s an honor just to be able to play in the Army game. It’s crazy to be nominated for the player of the year with all of these other great players.
I never thought about it at all. I just played the season out and had fun with it. Everything else just came along for the ride.
Quinn will find out whether or not he won at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Awards Show on January 3.
