The impressive rookie season for Arizona Cardinals free safety/nickel back/ return man and former LSU All-American Tyrann Mathieu ended prematurely with a torn ACL and LCL in their win over the St. Louis Rams a week ago.

It was a season that could have resulted in him winning the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, but that hasn’t diminished the Honey Badger’s spirit as he live tweeted the game vs. the Tennessee Titans this afternoon.

More than six hours before game time, Mathieu was ready for the game for the upstart Cardinals who would be in the playoffs if the season ended today.

After Tennessee kicked a field goal on their opening drive.

After Rashard Mendenhall’s touchdown gave the Cards a 7-3 lead in the first quarter.

Cheering on fellow rookie Andre Ellington who led the team in rushing with 71 yards on 10 carries.

After an 11-play, 60 yard drive that ate up 5:07 resulted in Mendenhall’s second 1-yard TD of the afternoon to give Arizona a 24-17 lead.

After Anoine Cason’s 20-yard interception return for a touchdown put the Cardinals up 34-17 with 6:22 left in the 4th.

Mathieu went silent on Twitter for 47 minutes late in the fourth quarter when the Titans scored 17 in the final 3:17 in the fourth quarter, including 10 in the final 52 seconds to force overtime. But after the Cards kicked the game-winning field goal to improve to 9-5, Mathieu ended his silence.

Nice insight to the mind of Mathieu who unfortunately could not be on the field with Patrick Peterson, Karlos Dansby, Darryl Washington and the rest of his defensive teammates today, but this was pretty cool to see him take to Twitter to express himself during win for the 9-5 Cards.
