LSU came into the game a ten point favorite but they knew better than to take this dangerous UAB team for granted. The Tigers came out strong and never looked back. The game was tied at four in the opening minutes, then LSU made three consecutive threes to grab a nine point advantage. The Tigers kept their foot on the gas and the game was never in question. LSU finished the game with a 86 to 63 victory.

UAB came into the contest riding a five game winning streak that included a key win over 14th ranked North Carolina. The Blazers came into the game 1st in the country in rebounds. They continued their success on the boards, out rebounding LSU 48 to 39. However, UAB shot a dismal 30% from the field compared to the Tigers’ 49%. Three point shooting was a big difference maker, LSU was red hot from deep sinking 10 of their 17 attempts. On the other hand, UAB only hit 1 of 16 shots from beyond the arc.

Johnny O’Bryant led the way for the Tigers with a game high 17 points. He also chipped in five rebounds and two blocks.

Andre Stringer drained three of his four shots from deep and finished with 13 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.

The victory pushes LSU to 8-2 on the season. Their next game is against McNeese  State on December 28th in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
