Jordan Mickey was back to the form LSU fans had seen for the bulk of his freshman season vs. the UAB Blazers after a lackluster and foul-plagued game earlier in the win vs. the Texas Tech Red Raiders. In the Tiger’s win over their toughest opponent yet and had 12 points, six boards and four blocks.

This performance was good enough to keep Mickey at No. 6 on ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Goodman’s list of the top freshman in the nation.

Mickey will look to improve upon those numbers in a relatively easy matchup vs. McNeese State on Saturday. For the season, Mickey is averaging 13.7 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 3.6 BPG, and shooting 57 percent from the field. Goodman says all he needs is more national exposure to start getting the buzz the five players ranked ahead of him have received.

Let’s take a look at the five players Goodman has ranked ahead of Mickey.
