The time is finally here. At the Under Armour All-American Game, key LSU targets are scheduled to tell to the country where they will spend their collegiate careers. It will be a monumental day for the future of LSU football as key athletes, led by Leonard Fournette, announce their college destinations.
Running back Fournette, athlete Speedy Noil, defensive lineman Gerald Willis, cornerback Tony Brown and safety Jamal Adams, are all key targets for LSU. Their decisions will play a major role in the overall quality of the Tigers’ 2014 recruiting class.
Fournette is the number one recruit in the country and already drawing comparisons to Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. Fournette is considered a LSU lean but Alabama is still in the mix and Texas is the token third finalist. Landing him is crucial for the Tigers’ recruiting class as he could be the signature player that leads to a national title in his college career.
Speedy Noil is another crucial land for LSU. He is the number one rated athlete in the country and could play receiver and cornerback in college. The fight for his services is between Texas A&M and LSU. It is important for the Tigers to get Noil since star wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. will most likely leave early for the NFL draft.
Five-star defensive tackle Willis, five-star cornerback Brown and five-star safety Adams are all scheduled to announce during this game as well. If all end up picking LSU–which is expected–LSU will have the No. 1 class according to 247Sports and bump Alabama to No. 2 depending on which commits they land that day.
The Under Armour All-American game is going to be entertaining, but the real show is going to be the announcement of these elite high school athletes.
