Tony Brown had a lot of chatter in the days leading up to his announcement at the Under Armour All-American game with both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes trying their hardest to sway the nation’s No. 3 cornerback recruit away from LSU.
Despite hurting his shoulder this week and being unable to participate in the game itself, Brown still made his decision today and committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide over the LSU Tigers after it was widely believed he would be playing in Baton Rouge.
Brown’s older sister Bealoved is on the track team at LSU and their bond was thought to be too much to overcome for the other schools pursuing Brown. However, that was not the case as Brown will get to learn from the best secondary coach in the nation under Nick Saban.
Bronw will enroll early and compete for the track team at Alabama.
At 6-0, 190-pounds and running a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash makes Brown the next exceptional cornerback to head to Tuscaloosa where he can be the next in a long line of of All-American and first round picks out of Alabama.
LSU returns Tre’Davious White and Rashard Robinson at cornerback, so it’s not completely devastating to lose Brown, but things have not shaped up as well as LSU fans had hoped at the Under Armour Game as they lose another target to a rival SEC program.
