The 2013 college football season is over and the Florida State Seminoles won the BCS Championship, becoming the second team to defeat the Auburn Tigers joining LSU and ending the SEC’s seven-year of championships.
Florida State is the No. 1 team in the final AP Top 25 Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll with Auburn the nation’s runner-up at No. 2, the Rose Bowl Champion Michigan State Spartans are at No. 3 with the South Carolina Gamecocks and Missouri Tigers rounding out the top five.
The rest of the top 10 consists of Oklahoma, Alabama, Clemson, Oregon and UCF.
LSU comes in at No. 14 in both the AP and Coaches Polls after their 21-14 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Outback Bowl to improve to 10-3 on the season.
The SEC placed seven teams inside the top 25 in both polls, but fail to finish with a team at No. 1 for the first time since 2005 when the Texas Longhorns defeated the USC Trojans in a game that is drawing comparisons to Monday night’s game as one of the best BCS games of all-time.
