Mettenberger comes in at No. 5 on Brooks’ list despite tearing his ACL in the LSU win over Arkansas and surgery preventing him from working out at the combine in February and likely the LSU pro day.

However, Mettenberger proved he could be a quick learner after excelling under Cam Cameron in his first year as offensive coordinator and mastered his NFL concepts.

“Old-school pocket passer with a big arm and rapidly improving game. The ACL injury will send him down the charts a bit, but watching his work in Cam Cameron’s system will make him a favorite of proponents of the vertical passing game.”

There figures to be a run on quarterbacks in the top 10 and all four ahead of Mettenberger could be drafted safely in the first round leaving him as the top available quarterback when the second round begins.

Why is he a jerk? He has the top recruit coming to LSU and the No. 3 class in the nation. What recruits are slipping away? Surely, he can’t get them all, but he’s doing a good job, or is anything below No. 1 just cause for termination?
