Four-star strongside defensive end and longtime LSU commitment, Davon Godchaux (Plaquemine, La.Plaquemine) took an official visit to check out the SEC champion Auburn Tigers this past weekend and came away thoroughly impressed.
“It was pretty good. I love it,” Godchaux said after his visit to Auburn. “I love everything about it, seriously. I love everything.”
The 6-4, 285-pound defensive end is the nation’s No. 147 player overall, No. 10 strongside end and the No. 11 player in Louisiana and could potentially slide inside at tackle, so is there reason to be concerned form the LSU end after such a positive visit?
“Yes, it’s going to be a hard decision,” said Godchaux, who added he is “100 percent committed to LSU.”
LSU is trying to add to it’s crop of defensive linemen with Breeland Speaks and Travonte Valentine two tackles high on LSU’s board, so the potential loss of Godchaux would sting, especially to an SEC west rival.
However, LSU will get a chance on Jan. 24 to get momentum back in their corner when Godchaux takes his official visit and remind him about all the reasons about why he committed to LSU in the first place at the end of September.
He also has an official visit to Florida on Jan. 31 before making his final decision on national signing day on Feb. 5.
