Alabama is 8-10 on the season mainly due to their struggles in close games. In games decided by 10 points or less the Crimson Tide are a dismal 2-9.

Alabama is led by their senior guard Trevor Releford. Releford is the team leader in points averaging over 18 a game, and he does it rather efficiently shooting 50% from the field.

Rebounding could be a big issue tonight for the Crimson Tide. They are  219th in the country in rebounds per game, and their leading rebounder, Rodney Cooper, only averages 4.5 rebounds. On the other hand, LSU is 10th in the country in rebounds per game, and they have two players, Jordan Mickey and Johnny O’Bryant, that average more than 7 boards a game.

The physical LSU front court will be the difference in this game.

Final score prediction: LSU 72 Alabama 60

LSU will be looking to gain momentum tonight before hosting Kentucky, January 28 at 8:00 p.m. CT.
