Tuesday night’s 87-82 win for LSU over the No. `1 Kentucky Wildcats was the team’s highest ranked win over an SEC opponent since they beat the No. 3 Florida Gators on Feb. 14, 1007. The upset was seen on ESPN in primetime as the nation saw LSU play one of the finer games of the season and in Johnny Jones’ career.

After the game LSU head football coach Les Miles took to Twitter to congratulate Jones and his team and to salute the LSU fans and students who braved the icy conditions as an estimated 6,000 fans were in attendance to witness the upset.

Jones had similar gratitude for the elements to see LSU improve to 13-6 (4-3) on the season.

One of the 6,000 in Pete Maravich Assembly Center was legendary head coach Dale Brown who coached at LSU from 1972 to 1997, winning 448 wins and two Final Four appearances.

All in all it was a pretty memorable evening for LSU as this team can be awfully good on any given night and could be a dangerous team down the stretch.
