LSU 2013 season player recaps: No. 1 quarterback Rob Bolden

We are introducing a new segment on Death Valley Voice where we will take an in-depth look at each and every player on the roster and will recap what they did in 2013 and what their expectations will be for 2014 provided they are still with the team.

We will be covering players in numerical order and hope the football coverage outside of recruiting and NFL draft prep will fill a little bit of the void in your heart that craves Tiger football.

Rob Bolden

Position: Quarterback
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 209 lbs.
Class: Junior

Starting off our list is No. 1 Rob Bolden. The reserve quarterback transferred to LSU from Penn State prior to the 2012 season, but LSU decided to redshirt him in what would have been his junior season.

This year as a redshirt junior, Bolden was buried on the depth chart behind starter Zach Mettenberger and back-up Anthony Jennings. As the third string quarterback, Bolden did not see any playing time in 2013.

He did not play particularly well at Penn State either. In two years with the Nittany Lions, Bolden only completed 50% of his passes for 2,045 yards, 7 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Unless he improves significantly in the off-season, Bolden will most likely not see the field in 2014.

Next player recap: #2 Avery Peterson tomorrow at 9:00 am CT.
