We are introducing a new segment on Death Valley Voice where we will take an in-depth look at each and every player on the roster and will recap what they did in 2013 and what their expectations will be for 2014 provided they are still with the team.
We will be covering players in numerical order and hope the football coverage outside of recruiting and NFL draft prep will fill a little bit of the void in your heart that craves Tiger football.
Position: Wide Receiver
Weight: 189 lbs.
Former LSU Tiger and Arizona Cardinal All-Pro defensive back Patrick Peterson’s little brother, Avery Peterson, has faced many obstacles throughout the course of his short career.
Peterson was a great pick up for LSU in the 2012 recruiting class. He was named a four-star wide receiver prospect by every major recruiting website. In just three years at Ely High School in South Florida, Peterson had 113 receptions for 1,752 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Peterson was not academically eligible to attend LSU in 2012, so he attended the Hargrave Military Academy for a year before joining LSU in 2013.
Early August 2013, Peterson encountered another obstacle in his football career, Peterson and Tigers cornerback Kavahra Holmes were doing a one-on-one drill, that ended with Peterson breaking his ankle, causing him to miss his entire freshman season.
Peterson is a talented receiver who could emerge as a go-to threat in 2014.
Next player recap: #3 Odell Beckham Jr. tomorrow at 9:00 am CT.
