Trey Lealaimatafao has committed to the LSU Tigers and signed his letter of intent on national signing day as the three-star defensive tackle gives the Bayou Bengals more size along the interior of the defensive line where LSU has managed to do fairly well this year despite on missing Gerald Willis.

Trey Lealaimatafao was always in the background for LSU, but really became a bigger priority in late January after the dead period and came to LSU for a visit in late January. His sister attends Southern University so the San Antonio native will have family nearby.

At 6-0, 300-pounds, he isn’t the tallest prospect, he he’s strong at the point of attack and plays with a lot of intensity and a motor that never stops. He originally had been committed to the Texas Longhorns, so he is the third former Texas commit to join LSU today.

He is the nation’s No. 442 player overall and No. 33 defensive tackle according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

He is the second defensive tackle to sign today joining Travonte Valentine.
