The LSU Tigers had one of their best offensive seasons in program history and as a result there are a number of highlights to remember as we head into the offseason with national signing day in the rear-view mirror and spring football still a ways away.
The hiring of Cam Cameron to run the offense may have been one of the best assistant coaching hires made in the last few years as he took Zach Mettenberger‘s game to incredible heights after a so-so career at LSU prior to his arrival. His coaching turned Mettenberger into a potential first round pick before tearing an ACL.
The two biggest beneficiaries of the development of Mettenberger were wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.who became the first duo in program history to record a 1,000 yard season in the same year and only the third in SEC history.
Lastly, the running backs led by 1,400-yard rusher Jeremy Hill who entered the NFL draft after a record-setting performance in the Outback Bowl win and the ever-reliable Terrence Magee who continued to impress with every touch.
