Four-star defensive end Deondre Clark (Oklahoma City, Ok. Douglass) made it official today when he formally signed with the LSU Tigers five days after national signing day.
Clark was scheduled to announce last Wednesday but frigid conditions forced his school to close putting his announcement on hold. In the days leading up to signing day there was some concerns if he would drop his commitment to LSU in favor of the Oklahoma Sooners where his mother reportedly wanted her son to play.
There wasn’t much drama in reality though as George Schroeder tweeted Clark faxed in his signed letter of intent on signing day. Clark is the No. 149 recruit in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings and the No. 11 defensive end.

Clark has recorded 58 sacks in his last three high school seasons and Miles released a statement saying the 6-3, 240-pound defender is in line to earn some playing time as a true freshman.
“Deondre is a very athletic and versatile player who was a standout on both sides of the ball in high school,” LSU coach Les Miles said in a statement released Monday. “We are thrilled to have him join this class. He fills a need for us at defensive end. He’ll be able to come in and compete for playing time.” right away.”
