Isaiah Washington (New Orleans, La. Edna Karr) was at LSU this weekend for their Boys from the Boot Junior Day and the three-star defensive end loved it so much he shut down his recruitment and committed to the Tigers.
“I went ahead and committed,” Washington tells Shea Dixon of 247Sports. “I talked with Coach Frank [Wilson] after I had met with Coach Miles, and that’s when I let him know I wanted to commit. He was just really excited.”
Washington was estimated to look around 6-5 and 250-pounds and is the seventh commitment and first defensive lineman for the class of 2015 which ranks third nationally and third in the SEC according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He was a high school teammate with 2014 LSU targets Gerald Willis and Speedy Noil.
Washington is the No. 607 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the No. 26 weakside defensive end and the No. 30 recruit in the state of Louisiana.
He didn’t have an offer from LSU prior to the weekend, but he had offers from Tennessee, TCU and Kansas State among others.
