The LSU Tigers had a busy Wednesday on the recruiting trail as they landed commitments from No. 1 fullback David Ducre (Mandeville, La. Lakeshore) and four-star wide receiver Jazz Ferguson (Saint Francisville, La. West Feliciana) to move up to the No.1 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Ducre picked up his offer at the recent ‘Boys from the Boot’ and wasted little time in taking LSU up on their offer.
The 6-0, 230-pound Ducre ran more than 800 yards as a junior and added 18 touchdowns.
“I wanted to take visits and see what everyone had to offer,” said Ducre. “But in the back of my mind I knew LSU was where I wanted to be. I was presented with the opportunity so I went ahead and took it to get the weight of recruiting off my shoulders.”
Ducre will be the lead blocker for No. 1 overall recruit and incoming freshman Leonard Fournette for at least two years (assuming Fournette declares for the NFL draft after his junior year) which gives LSU the makings for the best backfield in the country.
