The SEC is the premier conference in college football. Here is a look at the best players in the league.

The Southeastern Conference has been one of the most dominant conferences in college football for the past decade, winning seven of the past nine national championships. Despite the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Big 10 claiming the past two national titles, the SEC’s reign of dominance is not coming to a close anytime soon.

Each year, the SEC is full of superstar athletes. Many of these are among the best in college football. In the past nine seasons, the conference has featured four Heisman trophy winners, more than any other conference during that span.

Furthermore, the SEC has had the most players drafted in the NFL draft since 2005. The 484 SEC players drafted is significantly more than the next closest conference, the ACC, who had 403 players drafted during this time frame.

And when players leave for the NFL, the SEC reloads with some of the best recruiting classes in the nation. As a result, each Saturday in the fall, the SEC consistently displays future NFL talent on the field.

As the 2015 season quickly approaches, it is not only a question about which teams will be the best in the conference, but which players will be the best in the SEC as well. This year, the Southeastern Conference features potential Heisman Trophy candidates, former No. 1 overall prospects and, as always, plenty of future NFL talent.

So with the new college football season just around the corner, who are the best 5 players in the SEC? Here is our take:
