The LSU Tigers have lofty expectations heading into the 2016 college football season. Armed with one of the best running backs in the country and various returners on both sides of the football, it’s College Football Playoff or bust for head coach Les Miles and LSU football.

All-American running back Leonard Fournette headlines the team’s offense. Meanwhile, LSU’s defense brings back an abundance of veteran talent, including senior linebacker Kendell Beckwith and senior cornerback Tre’Davious White.

Fournette will obviously play an important role in LSU’s season, and the same can be said about the Tigers’ big names on defense. However, if these five players can join them in making an impact, LSU may be able to compete for a national championship in 2016.
