Not long ago, the LSU football program faced a boycott scare involving New Orleans high school recruits. Since, that threat has faded and become less substantiated.

In today’s microwave society, when things come together quicker than they did in the past, one prominent coach assured that there will not be a boycott of New Orleanian High School Players going to LSU.

Less than 24 hours of the posting of an article of the goings on in Baton Rouge, one of LSU’s most famous fans provided his thoughts on how he viewed the transactions Coach O made.

This move seemed to agitate quite a few people from the New Orleans Area who love and follow the Tigers closely.

Well, it seems like that was all for not as one prominent coach assures that there will be no boycott of New Orleans high school players from going to LSU.  Brice Brown, head coach of the Edna Karr Cougars, spoke with The Advocate to discuss the meeting that he and another local coach had with Coach Orgeron.

More from LSU Football Recruiting

Apparently most of the coaches were just in need of clarification about what happened with Coach Juluke; but understood that firing was more business than personal. They also said that there was no real intent to boycott students from going to LSU or any other school, for that matter. It is hard to say whether or not the rumor of a boycott started due to a rogue coach upset by the untimely firing of Coach Juluke, or if this was a more serious matter that Coach Orgeron diffused quickly.

Shortly after the announced boycott, a crisis situation was totally averted. For those who still have some doubts about whether or not the threat of a boycott will have lingering effects in New Orleans, Coach Mickey Joseph among others have since assure that it will not be the case.

Look for your Tigers to be strong as ever in the coming recruiting seasons.
