Around National Signing Day, it seemed LSU football tight end target Glenn Beal was all but fully committed to the Tigers.

But now, it looks like Beal wants to sleep on the decision for quite a while before to committing to any program.

Louisiana’s No. 1 tight end said he felt like he was moving a bit too quickly, and wanted to slow his roll before making any hasty decisions.  To make matters even more serious, his school ( John Curtis Christian (La.) ), requires that all students’ commitments be final.

“I felt like I was rushing,” Beal said to SEC Country. “I’ve also picked up some new offers, so I just want to wait.”

Besides LSU, Beal has been offered by some of the most prestigious college football programs in the country.  These schools include UCLA, Miami and Texas A&M, along with several others.

If he does choose LSU, it is very likely offensive coordinator Matt Canada will use Beal in his system exactly the same way he utilized tight ends at Pitt.  This means we’ll be seeing Beal go wide pretty often, and do his fair share of run blocking too.

From what Beal has said, this is exactly what he wants in his college football experience.

“Basically, how they used their tight ends at Pitt,” he said. “I’m just waiting to see if that’s what it’s going to be.”

Beal has not given a specific time frame as to when he will announce his commitment, but he has made it more than clear he will be taking his time to choose wisely.
