Its time for SEC weekly previews. Every week I will predict all the games for that week that feature at least one SEC team.
I would have had a perfect week last week had it not been for the Nick Marshall miracle pass against Georgia. With the Auburn insanity I finished 4-1 last week to push my record to 39-13 for the season.
Missouri @ Ole Miss
This game has the potential to be real night time thriller in Oxford. Ole Miss’ lone home loss came on a last second field goal to a talented Texas A&M squad. The Rebels have reeled off four consecutive victories, earning their way back into the top 25. Missouri has had an excellent season and have a top ten ranking to show for it. The Tigers will be fresh for the game coming off a bye week. Missouri should be able to snap the Rebels current win streak, but the game will be close.
Final Score: Missouri 38 Ole Miss 31
Coast Carolina @ South Carolina
This should be the first of several snoozers in the SEC this weekend. Coast Carolina has an impressive 10-1 record but that is coming against all FCS opponents. South Carolina is too big and athletic for there to be any doubt about who will finish the game victorious. The real question is when the Gamecocks will take there starters off the field to rest them for the Clemson game.
Final Score: Coast Carolina 3 South Carolina 42
Georgia Southern @ Florida
The only positive take away from the game is that Florida should be able to snap their ugly five game losing streak. Georgia Southern has been extremely average in FCS play with a 6-4 record to show for it. Florida should be able to handle them easily. It will be good for the Gators to get a victory since they will most likely be annihilated by Florida State in their regular season finale.
Final Score: Georgia Southern 0 Florida 24
Chattanooga @ Alabama
This just seems like bullying to me, the best team in the nation against an FCS foe. Chattanooga has played well against their sub-par competition, while Alabama has been superb in the grueling SEC. Alabama has the highly anticipated Iron Bowl a week after this game. Expect the Crimson Tide to build a big lead early, then rest everyone considered remotely important.
Final Score: Chattanooga 3 Alabama 42
Mississippi State @ Arkansas
This battle will most likely determine who finishes last in the SEC West. Mississippi State has played three top 15 teams in as many weeks and as a result they have three losses to show for it. The Bulldogs did put up a good fight in both the Texas A&M and Alabama game, keeping the score much closer than expected. Arkansas comes into the game on a seven game losing streak and this will be their best chance to end it before the season ends. However, I think the Razorbacks gave up on their season a long time ago.
Final Score: Mississippi State 38 Arkansas 10
Kentucky @ Georgia
Kentucky is not exactly one of the SEC’s quality teams, but how long will it take for Georgia to recover from their heartbreaking loss to Auburn? Kentucky has lost six SEC games in as many tries this year. Georgia is 4-3 in SEC, mainly due to their struggles without star running back Todd Gurley. Even if the Bulldogs start the game poorly, they should still be able to crush a weak Kentucky squad.
Final Score: Kentucky 10 Georgia 45
Vanderbilt @ Tennessee
This game is extremely important for Tennessee, as they will need to win their final two games to become bowl eligible. If they can pull off the win here they will only need to defeat Kentucky to earn a berth in postseason play. Vanderbilt has played surprisingly well recently winning 3 of their last four SEC games. Vanderbilt has the potential to end the season with a quality 8-4 record. I think Vanderbilt will continue their recent success in Knoxville.
Final Score: Vanderbilt 38 Tennessee 24
Texas A&M @ LSU
The SEC Game of the Week should be full of offensive fireworks. Both teams come into the game with incredible offenses and unproven defenses. There most like will be very few stops in the game. Both teams will be well rested, since they both had a bye week leading up to the game. The game should be high scoring and fun to watch, and I think Death Valley will be the difference in the game as the Tigers will stand victorious
Final Score: Texas A&M 42 LSU 45
