LSU has confirmed that defensive back Micah Eugene is no longer on the LSU Football team. They also stated that defensive backs Jerqwinick Sandolph and Derrick Raymond will not travel with the team for their Outback Bowl match-up with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

According to Nola.com, Michael Bonnette, the LSU sports information director, announced Eugene is no longer with the team. However, the future for Raymond and Sandolph has yet to be determined. Bonnette refused to explain the cause of the disciplinary actions.

Eugene redshirted his freshman year then played in all 13 of LSU’s games in 2012. This season he started against Kent State and Auburn, but fell in the depth chart as freshman cornerbacks Tre’Davious White and Rashard Robinson earned more playing time.

Eugene’s playing time fell so drastically that he did not even play in LSU’s final three games, all against SEC opponents.

On the year Eugene finished with 33 tackles, three for loss, and one sack. His best performance statistically was against Auburn, where he recorded eight tackles.

Neither Sandolph nor Raymond have received significant playing time, but Raymond is only a freshman, and Sandolph is a sophmore.
