10 Things we learned about the LSU Tigers in Week 2

6.) No one is going to be throwing on this secondary. Not that SHSU was given much opportunity to exploit it, but LSU’s front line talent plus depth make it the best in the SEC. Jalen Mills, Tre’Davious White, Jalen Collins, Rashard Robinson, and Dwayne Thomas could all start for any team in the SEC.
The only question mark may be at the second safety spot with Mills, as Ronald Martin made two awful tackle attempts on the same play and Rickey Jefferson hasn’t show much consistency either. Corey Thompson could be help at that spot, but he remains sidelined with injury, not having played a single snap yet this season.
At one point, LSU trotted out an all-freshman defensive backfield in the second half. It included future stars Jamal Adams, Devin Voorhies, and Ed Paris. If any of those guys can provide quality snaps, LSU won’t have any issues defending spread passing attacks such as Texas A&M’s or Ole Miss’.
