After a disappointing 2014 campaign, several LSU football players could experience their coming-out party this season.
The LSU football team struggled tremendously last year, largely due to inexperience at key positions. When the 2015 season gets underway in September, these same players will be called upon to lead the Tigers on a run at the SEC Championship.
The big difference between the team that went 8-5 last year and the one that will step on the field in eight weeks: the crash course they received in 2014.
In addition to owning a plethora of talented young players, the Bayou Bengals have upperclassman who have been waiting years for their opportunity to shine. They also feature some of the most highly-touted incoming freshman in the country.
Preseason predictions for the Tigers have been all over the place, ranging anywhere from being a potential College Football Playoff contender to a fifth place finish in the SEC West. Their ability to find impact players they can rely on will play a major factor in which end of the spectrum they land at when the season is over.
Every season has its breakout players that emerge into the national spotlight. This year, the Tigers feature an array of young talent, savvy veterans and a running back being listed as a preseason candidate for nearly every award for which he is eligible.
