The LSU football team’s postseason aspirations took a major hit last Saturday against Alabama, but the Tigers are far from out of the College Football Playoff picture.
The College Football Playoff Rankings came out last night, and the LSU football team took quite the tumble.
The Tigers dropped from No. 2 to No. 9 after the 30-16 loss to the conference rival Alabama Crimson Tide. While the LSU fans are presumably pretty disappointed right now, such a drop was expected.
LSU’s destiny was in its hands, Fournette was the Heisman front runner and the Bayou Bengals looked to be a legitimate National Champion contender in the eyes of the SEC, as well as the rest of the nation. All of that optimism and lofty aspirations appear to have slipped through their fingers. All hope appears to be lost.
But I disagree. Let’s not lose our composure and give up on 2015 yet. There is still hope.
Come with me as we diagnose the rest of the college football season, and see if the Tigers can resuscitate their season.
Just remember, all of these hypotheticals come at the condition that LSU wins its final three games against Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. LSU may have to beat all of these teams in an impressive fashion as well, but they must at the very least beat them on the field of play.
One more loss would take the current 7-1 Tigers out of the conversation.
