The season’s final whistle had been blown. The games were over. As the glaring white stadium lights of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center were dimmed for the final time this season and the ball racks rolled away, LSU basketball fans had clashing feelings of optimism and disappointment to chew over.

On one hand—a star-studded and hyped-up team featuring the No.1 recruit in the entire country (Ben Simmons) failed to even qualify for the NCAA Tournament and four key players (Simmons included) either graduated or moved on to the NBA.

On the other, last year’s elite five-star recruiting class clearly helped to increase the program’s standing and aided in courting the incoming group of recruits that will join Antonio Blakeney, Brandon Sampson and other key returners next season. We will take a quick look at LSU Basketball’s 2016 Recruiting Class.
