Branden Jenkins – SG (Lee College)

The next signee is another lanky shooting guard with springs in his shoes. A JUCO star last season, two things made clear by Jenkins’ high school film are that he can get down the court much faster than his competition, and once there he can get up much higher.

Jenkins is a pesky and quick guard known for being a nuisance on defense; a niche which definitely remains to be filled on the Tigers.

One analyst describes Jenkins as an “explosive athlete and a very good on-ball defender”. Another describes him as “effectively using his athleticism and size to score through contact at the rim.”

The Chicago native could fit well onto a young Tigers squad if he is able to leverage outstanding defense, hustle and athleticism into playing time. If he can bring energy and solid fundamental defense to the court then we will be seeing a lot of him this season. Jenkins joins big man Duop Reath as one of two Lee College alums joining the Tigers.
