They’re baaaaaaaackkk.

For tonight’s upcoming game against LA Tech the Tigers’ are back in the fan favorite purple jersey. It will be different a different uniform from the previous year, which featured the white pants and helmet, as this year will feature the gold pants and helmet.

Previously on the year, the Tigers have only worn the gold helmet, white jersey, and yellow pants combination. While most fans don’t enjoy the more simple uniforms, note that the combination is undefeated on the year.

You can check out a sneak peek of these jerseys with a tweet by our friends @LSUFBEquipment:

The Tigers will need to play as good as they will look if they want to handle an upset minded LA Tech team. On the year, the Bulldogs of Tech are 2-0 and had a week off to prepare for this Tiger team. Coming off a physical and hard-fought win against Auburn, it will be crucial that we do not look too far ahead.

The advantage for the Tigers here is that it is a night game in Death Valley. No matter the year, that will never be an easy game, especially not for a Conference USA opponent. The important things to watch for this game will be the completion percentage for Joe Burrow. If he can show a further development as a passer against an inferior opponent, it will be great for this team heading into the thick of the SEC schedule.

It will be interesting to watch for these jerseys again later in the season, maybe even next week in a home game against Ole Miss. The purple uniforms have a history of success on Saturdays in Tiger Stadium, notably upsetting Auburn last year. With the talent this team has this year, I would not expect any less this Saturday.
