A LSU Tiger favorite, The Chimes in Baton Rouge, was voted the 19th best college bar in America by Delish.com!

One of the favorite places to go to watch the LSU Tigers or to celebrate a big Tiger win is The Chimes. Going in to its 25th year of operation, The Chimes has two locations in Baton Rouge and now a new store in Covington, about an hour outside of Baton Rouge. If you haven’t paid them a visit, it is definitely a place to check out. When talking to a LSU Grad, Joy Wills, she highly recommends the spinach and artichoke dip, calling it “the best in the world”. At The Chimes, you can eat anything from fried pickles to catfish perdu.

Maybe The Chimes isn’t your cup of tea due to its upscale feel. That is why it fits the perfect definition of “the place to take your parents when they come to visit”. It shows them a good place that will never disappoint anyone, especially the parents.

In the write-up by Delish.com, they talk about the high-end feel and that it is extremely popular among students. Here is more of what they had to say:

"Hum-Dum bar food definitely isn’t on the menu at The Chimes. LSU Students watch their fill of ESPN while tucking into crawfish etouffée , shrimp, and oysters at this chill, Southern spot."

Next time you are looking for a place to eat checkout The Chimes, then you can go right next door to another LSU favorite, Varsity Theatre. Another hot spot for college kids, that maybe deserves to be on a list or two of top places in a college town. Baton Rouge is home to many great gems, and an argument could be made for several different places, but not many will argue with The Chimes making the list.
