Former LSU Tigers baseball player Alex Bregman didn’t hold back when he was recently asked for his College Football Playoff championship game score prediction.

The AL MVP runner up told reporters that he sees the matchup against Clemson playing out like LSU’s win against Oklahoma. He has LSU winning big, 42-16 to be exact.

Bregman continued by saying that LSU would be better off playing the New Orleans Saints (umm sorry Bregs, can’t agree with you there).

The Houston Astros slugger also took the time to throw a little shade at former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. When Bregman was informed that Watson is “riding with the real tigers”, he replied “I’m glad he’s rooting for LSU”.

It shouldn’t be a big surprise that Bregman takes his LSU football so serious.

In 2018, Bregman made a football related bet with Alex Cora, the current Boston Red Sox manager who was then serving as the Astros’ bench coach.

Cora played college baseball at Miami, so when LSU and the Hurricanes played in the season opener, there was a bet made between the two. If Miami won, Bregman had to wear a Miami turnover chain. If LSU won, Cora had to wear a Warren Morris jersey to batting practice at Fenway.

LSU, of course, won 33-17.

Perhaps Bregman and Watson could make a friendly wager for the game.

Then again, if Watson is smart he’d balk at any bet — Bregman definitely has the upper hand when it comes to a LSU/Clemson wager.
