The LSU Tigers will take on the Clemson Tigers on January 13 in the College Football Playoff championship game.

The LSU Tigers haven’t won a game by less than double digits since November 9 when they beat Alabama 46-41.

In fact, out of LSU’s 14 wins this season, only three have come by less than 10 points (Alabama, Auburn and Texas).

Suffice it to say, the Tigers have been on a roll this season.

Of course, when a team is steamrolling through their opponents like LSU has been, it’s easy get complacent. Cruise control can become an option for some teams.

But not LSU. Ed Orgeron is making sure of that.

Orgeron spoke to reporters on Wednesday after his team practiced, and he pointed out that while the Tigers haven’t been in a “tight” game in a while, they’re preparing for one against Clemson.

When you blow out a team 63-28 in the College Football Playoff semifinals, I can see how it would be easy to lose some intensity. Orgeron, however, is making certain the Tigers are ready for a game that might come down to the wire — even though it’s quite possible that LSU could leave New Orleans with another big win.

Whatever Coach O is doing is working, because he said the Tigers had their most energetic “Monday practice” ever on Wednesday  (LSU is pushing their practice prep back two days, in order to prepare like a normal game week).

I don’t know what the outcome of the LSU/Clemson game will be, but I have no doubt that Coach O will have his team fully prepared.

I mean, would you expect anything else?
