Carolina Panthers reportedly have interest in LSU Tigers assistant coach

The Carolina Panthers reportedly have interest in hiring one of Ed Orgeron’s LSU Tigers assistants.
Football Scoop reported on Friday that new Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule is reportedly interested in hiring LSU Tigers passing game coordinator Joe Brady.
This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise — Brady is receiving a ton of interest from college programs and NFL teams.
According to Football Scoop, Rhule hasn’t spoke with Brady yet, but he’s interested in speaking with him about being the Panthers’ new offensive coordinator.
Rhule has never coached with Brady, but they do actually have some loose connections to each other.
Brady was a graduate assistant at Penn State in 2015 and 2016. Rhule played college football at Penn State in the 90’s (Brady and Rhule also share the same agent, according to Football Scoop).
I’m sure Rhule will talk with plenty of coaches before making a decision. And Brady would be a fool to not listen to Rhule’s pitch.
Football Scoop says LSU is expecting Brady to return in 2020, but it’s hard to imagine him staying in Baton Rouge if he’s offered an offensive coordinator position in the NFL.
Could you really blame him if he left for that kind of promotion?
LSU fans just have to accept that Brady is a rising star in the business. Even if he returns to LSU next season, programs and NFL teams will continue to target him.
Success means assistants will be targeted by other programs/NFL teams. It’s a good problem to have, because it likely means you’re winning plenty of games.
And LSU is certainly winning plenty of games.
