The SEC might have the most entertaining group of coaches in the nation.

On Thursday, the last SEC opening was filled when the Mississippi State Bulldogs officially hired Washington State’s Mike Leach to be the program’s new head coach, replacing the recently fired Joe Moorhead.

Leach gives the SEC West a who’s who of entertaining coaches.

I mean, we’re talking about a division that has Leach, Ed Orgeron, Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban. Not to mention first time head coach Sam Pittman, who comes to Arkansas with a big personality of his own.

With all these intriguing coaches in the SEC, it got me thinking about who the most entertaining coach is in the conference.

And that of course led me to power ranking the most entertaining SEC coaches.

Who doesn’t love some good power rankings?!??!?!

Anyway, here we go.

14. Eliah Drinkwitz — Missouri

I didn’t know a whole lot about Eliah Drinkwitz before he replaced Barry Odom at Missouri. I knew he was the head coach at Appalachian State and he had spent some time at NC State. That was about it.

After his introductory press conference, I learned all I need to know. Drinkwitz is incredibly boring. He’s one of those public speakers that puts you to sleep. I don’t see any way this guy is able to motivate a team. Good luck in Mizzou, Eliah. You probably won’t be there long.

13. Mark Stoops — Kentucky

I don’t have anything against Mark Stoops. He’s done a really good job as Kentucky’s head coach. Unfortunately for him, he’s probably hit his ceiling there. With Florida on the rise under Dan Mullen, and Tennessee finally erasing the stink of the Butch Jones era, it’s going to be tough for the Wildcats to do much in that division. But aside from his team’s sometimes strong performances, Stoops is rather unremarkable. He never has exciting sound bites. He’s kind of just…there. I honestly forget about the guy at times.

12. Gus Malzahn — Auburn

The only thing entertaining about Gus Malzahn is watching is fan base flip flop on whether or not they want him as their head coach. Malzahn has never had a losing season at Auburn, and he’s beat Nick Saban three times since 2013, yet he’s seemingly on the hot seat every year. It’s always entertaining to hear the rumors about Malzahn each November, which means he has to make uncomfortable comments about whether or not he’s getting fired or if he’s going to be the next head coach at Arkansas.

11. Jimbo Fisher — Texas A&M

I actually get annoyed by Jimbo Fisher. And I really don’t know why. It’s not that I dislike him, I just find him….annoying. It’s really bizarre. But he elicits some sort of emotional response from me, so he must be entertaining on some level. I kind of envision Jimbo Fisher as the West Virginia boy who made it big and now he wants everyone to know he made it big. Fisher is always clashing with an AD or wanting more money from someone. It’s never business as usual with Fisher.

10. Will Muschamp — South Carolina

I’m surprised year after year that Muschamp has survived as a head coach in the SEC. But to be honest, he’s perfect for South Carolina. They’re never going to be great with Muschamp, but they’ll have some relevant years. And they’ll spring some upsets (like they did against Georgia this season). Plus, every now and then after a big win, we get to hear Muschamp take a shot at opposing fans, like he did when Florida beat Tennessee in 2014.
